Privacy policy
Short, because we do very little with your data.
Last updated: 17 July 2026.
The short version
Desk & Daylighthas no accounts, no logins, no newsletter, and no advertising network. We do not sell your data, because we have almost none of it and no one to sell it to. Three things touch your data: Google Analytics, our contact form, and Amazon’s affiliate tracking when you click a product link.
Who we are
Desk & Daylight is operated by Type 5 Marketing LLC. Contact: info@deskanddaylight.com.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4to see which pages get read and how people arrive. It sets cookies and collects the usual: pages viewed, approximate location (from your IP, which Google truncates), device and browser type, and referring site. It is aggregate — we look at “the chair roundup had a good week”, not at individuals.
Google processes this data as our processor and under its own terms. You can opt out entirely with Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or by blocking analytics in your browser or an extension. Nothing on this site breaks if you do — there is no feature that depends on it.
The contact form
If you write to us, we get your name, your email address, the topic you picked, and your message. That is it — we do not ask for anything else. It is emailed to us via Microsoft Graph so we can read and reply.
We use it to answer you and, if you have flagged a wrong number, to fix the page. We do not add you to a mailing list — there isn’t one — and we do not pass it to anyone.
The form also records the moment the page loaded and briefly counts submissions per IP address. That is anti-spam, it replaces a captcha (so no captcha vendor gets your data either), and it is not used to identify or profile anyone.
Affiliate links
When you click a product link, you pass through a /go/ address on our domain and land on Amazon. Amazon then sets its own cookies to attribute a purchase to us, under Amazon’s privacy notice, not ours— once you are on their site, their rules apply and we have no visibility into what you do there. We never learn what you bought, only that we earned a commission.
Full details of the commercial relationship are on the disclosure page.
Hosting and logs
The site is hosted by Vercel, which keeps standard server logs (IP address, request, timestamp, user agent) for security and reliability, under its own terms as our hosting provider. Product images are served from Amazon’s CDN, so your browser makes a request to Amazon to load them.
What we do not do
- No accounts, no passwords, no profiles.
- No newsletter and no marketing email.
- No advertising network and no retargeting pixels.
- No selling or renting of personal data, ever.
- No cookie wall, and no consent theatre for cookies we don’t set.
Your rights
Depending on where you live — the UK/EU under GDPR, California under the CCPA/CPRA, and others — you may have the right to access, correct or delete the personal data we hold, or object to its processing.
In practice, the only personal data we hold is whatever you sent us through the contact form. Email info@deskanddaylight.com and we will delete it. For analytics data, Google is the place to exercise those rights, since they hold it.
Children
This site is aimed at adults buying office furniture. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
Changes
If we change what we collect, this page changes first and the date at the top moves. Since we have no mailing list, there is no notification — the date is the notice.
